PCS called a special closed session board meeting this evening to discuss making a new offer to SCCS for the Natural Bridges property. While they did not disclose any details, board president Deepika Shrestha Ross told the Sentinel it will be “strong, significant new offer” and confirmed that it would exceed their highest offer to date, which is the $200,000/yr established in 2003.
It’s about time. Yet we wonder why they waited eight months to make a follow-up offer. The unnecessary anxiety and uncertainty experienced by the PCS students, staff and parents could have been avoided entirely had an appropriate offer been tendered at any point during this period. We hope the offer is substantive, reflects the value of the property and takes into account their sizable resources.
